I'm off on what we refer to as Easter Break this week and loving my time at home with my three kids. I decided to take a stab at creating a day planner to go with my day plan pages I posted last time. I hope someone out there likes it and finds use for it. All I ask is that if you like it please leave a comment and follow me.

It's A Crazy Life, But It's Mine!

It's been a while since I posted last. Life has been busy, with a change in my teaching load a week before semester turn around and teaching between two schools, pretty much all new subjects in one and raising my 3 beautiful children.
Life in my Kindergarten room is busier than ever, it is amazing to me to see the growth and development of my students from the start of the year till now. I am so blessed to be able to take part in shaping them in what they are becoming, and can't wait to continue to watch them grow and development throughout the years.
In "my other life" I am finally reaching my stride as a French teacher and am looking forward to being able to continue with it next year.
I wanted to share with anyone reading this the day plan pages I created a few years ago. When I started teaching we were given coil bound day books, as our divisions grew larger we were no longer given day books, instead given links to pages we could print, which a lot of us found to be not very useful, so being the resourceful mother I am I sat down and created my own, they have grown and changed over the years resulting in a double pages per day. I hope you can find use for it. Feel free to change it however suits your needs.https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B5NPCmee-7ToQ1dMNnM5czNrU0U/edit?usp=sharing

Where has time gone
Well it's the end of October and we are all moved into our new Kindergarten room, I haven't taken pictures yet oops. Things have been busy with both work life and personal life. The Kindergartens are all ready and hyper for Halloween. We are busy with report cards coming up and a provincial assessment due at the same time (yay, not sure who plans this).
I'm getting more and more confident in teaching French as the year goes on. My husband laughs because I'm not spending and hour or two a night on MY french homework now, so something is obviously working.
I will be so happy once we are through Halloween, it is one holiday I could do without. I really don't like having to dress up and plan costumes for my 3 children. Living in Saskatchewan it is always cold for Halloween so we have to plan costumes around snow suits. I was doing really good until my oldest changed her mind about trick-or-treating this year after I ordered her a costume that would not work over a snow suit.
My brain is starting to think of ideas for Christmas concerts and what song we can do with hand bells this year. I think I need to slow down and give my brain a break before starting on Christmas.
Oh, well off to spend the day cuddling with my sick little boy!

First week down
Well my first week has come and gone with many highs and lows. I have a pretty great group of Kindergartens this year and survived two whole days this week with zero tears.
I found out today that I am losing my EA for the afternoons which is going to make life interesting getting kids ready to go at the end of the day. Since we are in a temporary classroom we have no lockers, no boot room, so it's a little crazy at the end of the day getting everything from where it was stowed, plus we have to go out the high school doors so the kids have to be through the halls before the bell rings or they get trampled.
In my other life, I am settling into the swing of things. This year I am teaching French (scary as I haven't done anything with French since university) but it surprising how much of it is coming back to me. Most of my kids I taught last year so it's not much of a change or getting into routines as they all know mine.
Today I'm happy to have been able to sleep in a bit and now I'm off to spend the day with my 3 amazing kids and try to get some sanity back in my house and tackle the laundry that has accumulated.

Getting ready to go back
Well I have been back in the classroom a few times over the last couple of weeks. We officially start back next Tuesday and kids don't come till the 4th. I'm still in my temporary home till my new room is finished and since it is fairly small there isn't a whole lot I can do for now. Here are a few pics of my temporary home.

Here goes
I'm new to this whole blogging thing, so forgive me until I get the hang of this. I have two weeks before I start back to work ... two weeks to get as much time in with my kids as possible, two weeks to finish getting two classrooms ready, and two weeks to polish my French (it's been a few years since I've had to use it or teach it).
I'm in a bit of a panic this year as I was supposed to have a new Kindergarten classroom to start this year off, but they have discovered issues and I will now be starting the year in a studio space which is about half the size of a normal classroom. I spent the last two months of the year in this space so I will make it work, but I am really looking forward to a brand new space, fingers crossed it will be ready by the end of September.
